Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) invites applications for the Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Dean leads teaching and learning across the school, hires and evaluates faculty, and oversees budgets, accreditation, and program development to meet community needs.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Learning, the Dean guides strategic planning, student success initiatives, and external partnerships while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and college

Qualifications

• Master's degree in discipline within Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
• 5+ teaching experience in higher education.
• Administrative leadership experience in higher education (e.g., department chair, program director).
• Doctorate from nationally accredited program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in development and implementation of school goals and priorities.
• Select, supervise, and evaluate full-time faculty and staff; hire part-time personnel.
• Direct annual budget preparation and monitoring for academic units.
• Lead administrative functions (accreditation, student success initiatives, strategic planning).
• Represent academic programs to external stakeholders and partners.
• Resolve student concerns and facilitate program accreditation and reviews.
• Coordinate reports and maintain relationships with accrediting bodies.
• Ensure timely curriculum and policy reviews and faculty workload management.
