Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks a Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences to lead teaching and learning across the school. The role directs faculty and staff, manages budgets, and chairs accreditation and program review efforts to advance NWACC’s academic mission.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in a related discipline, significant teaching experience in higher education, and proven administrative leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in discipline within Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
• 5+ teaching experience in higher education.
• Administrative leadership experience in a higher education setting (dept chair, program director, or equivalent).
• Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and on the phone.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in developing and implementing the school’s goals and priorities.
• Select, supervise, and evaluate full-time faculty and staff; hire part-time staff.
• Direct annual budget preparation and monitor expenditures for academic units.
• Coordinate program accreditation, program reviews, and required reporting.
