Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions.
• Ability to monitor students.
• Proven ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to use a hand-held stop sign, flashlight, two-way radio.
• Stamina to stand for long periods and mobility to escort students/visitors.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and with traffic exposure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain courtesy and respect for students, staff and the public at all times.
• Interact professionally in all encounters.
• Report incidents to supervisors for records and action.
• Dress in an appropriate uniform and wear required identification at all times.
• Provide emergency, fire drill and evacuation assistance when necessary.
• Maintain a secure environment by encouraging order and cooperation.
• Monitor buses and assist in safe crossing of streets as needed.
• Notify emergency personnel or police during after-school activities.
