Job summary

Florida Tech seeks a visionary Dean to lead the College of Aeronautics, reporting to the Provost. The Dean will provide strategic leadership across academic programs, the Flight School, research, and industry partnerships, ensuring safety, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will drive fundraising, external partnerships, and interdisciplinary collaboration while promoting student success, faculty development, and innovation in aviation and aerospace.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution in aeronautics, aviation, aerospace, engineering, human factors, management, or related discipline.
• Scholarly, professional, practice-based, and service achievements meriting Associate or Full Professor.
• Distinguished record of academic, professional, and administrative accomplishment.
• Demonstrated experience in program-level to university-level strategic planning and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and leadership for the College of Aeronautics.
• Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement across undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Ensure academic quality and alignment with workforce and industry needs.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within Florida Tech.
• Ensure programs maintain appropriate academic accreditations and certifications.
• Provide oversight of the Florida Tech Flight School and alignment with the academic mission.
