Job summary
Saint Xavier University seeks a Dean for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences to lead academic and operational direction, ensuring quality education, regulatory and accreditation compliance, and student success. The Dean will partner with faculty, staff, and community leaders to advance program growth and employment pathways for graduates.
The role requires graduate nursing leadership with a terminal degree, plus extensive experience in nursing education and administration.
Qualifications
- Graduate nursing degree with terminal degree from an accredited institution.
- RN licensure in Illinois or eligibility.
- Minimum 5 years nursing practice experience.
- Minimum 5 years in academic education.
- Experience in academic/healthcare administration preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to diverse student populations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage confidential matters with tact and diplomacy.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and academic leadership for SONHS.
- Oversee budgets, programs, and strategic planning.
- Ensure accreditation compliance and assessment of outcomes.
- Foster partnerships with community and nursing leaders.
- Hire, develop, and retain qualified faculty and staff.
- Collaborate with the Provost and President on priorities.
- Model professional standards and inclusive environment.
