Job summary

Xavier University seeks a Dean of the College of Nursing to lead teaching, research, and service in a Jesuit Catholic context. The Dean will oversee 25 full-time faculty, 150 adjuncts, and 11 staff, driving strategic priorities, collaboration, and innovation across Xavier Health and the university.

The role requires a doctorate in nursing, a substantial track record in academic nursing leadership, and Ohio RN licensure readiness. Salary and benefits reflect senior leadership duties.

Qualifications

• An earned doctorate from an accredited institution with at least one graduate degree in nursing.
• Minimum of five years of experience in academic nursing, including leadership in higher education.
• Eligible for licensure as a registered professional nurse in Ohio.
• Record of teaching, scholarship, and service meriting tenure at associate or full professor level.
• Experience with accreditation, assessment, and regulatory requirements in nursing or higher education.

Responsibilities

• Lead the College of Nursing, collaborating with faculty and staff to advance teaching, scholarship and service.
• Engage in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to support academic programs.
• Foster collaboration, inclusion, and innovation across Xavier University’s health portfolio.
• Oversee accreditation reporting, program assessment, and compliance with standards.
• Build partnerships with community and external stakeholders to advance the college’s mission.
