Job summary

Houston Community College is seeking a Dean for the Center of Excellence in Architectural Design and Construction to provide strategic leadership, vision, and operational oversight for program offerings across the district.

You will drive enrollment growth, ensure THECB/SACSCOC compliance, manage resources, and lead Chairs and faculty to deliver high-quality curricula. The role emphasizes collaboration with the AVC, President, and external partners to advance industry-aligned education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an academic area appropriate to supervision of programs assigned required; Doctorate degree preferred
• 6 years’ combined experience in management of programs related to an academic or industry-specific setting with increasing levels of responsibility required; including 3 years full-time teaching experience in higher education (for Academic positions) or 5 years’ experience in the industry (for Workforce positions)
• Grant management experience preferred
• Valid Texas Driver License

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Presidents, Deans and Directors to grow area related programs district-wide.
• Administer District policy regarding assigned programs to maximize enrollment growth and revenue.
• Monitor outcomes and maintain articulation agreements to ensure student opportunities.
• Develop curriculum, programs, catalog, and course information with Chairs on responsibility areas.
• Lead the annual program reviews, planning reports, and learning assessments with AVC/President oversight.
• Develop advisory boards, deepen industry partnerships, and coordinate grants when needed.
