Job summary

Lithia Motors in Troy, MI is seeking a Dealership Accountant I to support daily cash handling, deposits, and reconciling the cash sales accounting schedule at our on-site Accounting Processing Center. You will review deals for accuracy, maintain notes on missing items, and collaborate with store teams to ensure revenue recognition.

A 1+ year dealership background and strong Excel skills are preferred. The role offers a full-time schedule, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in a dealership environment or similar auto retailer.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office apps.
• Ability to build relationships with internal team members.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily check and credit card deposits and assist with reconciling the cash sales accounting schedule.
• Review deals for accuracy and completeness using the Deal Checklist before submission to the Accounting Processing Center.
• Maintain notes on missing or incorrect items in the Booked and Pending report and support compliance tracking.
• Work with store teams and Business Managers to implement process changes and ensure revenue recognition.
• Help maintain reconciled accounting schedules as assigned by the Business Manager.
• Learn the Title & Registration Specialist role to support other accounting responsibilities when needed.
