Job description

This role is categorized as HYBRID. The successful candidate is expected to report to GM Warren - Cadillac Tower at least three times per week. This position may be eligible for relocation benefits.

The Dealer Development team is dedicated to protecting and optimizing GM’s dealer network to drive increased sales and market share. We support individuals historically excluded from the dealer ecosystem by offering targeted opportunities, mentorship, and training. Our goal is to increase dealer throughput and profitability across our network.

We are seeking a Dealer Development Assistant Manager to lead initiatives in event planning, strategic communications, and financial project management, focusing on dealer engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience in the automotive industry or a related field, strong project management skills, and a proven track record in team communications, conferences, partnership engagement, and budget management. This multifaceted role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams strategically.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute internal and external communications, including dealer and customer-facing materials, ensuring consistent messaging.
  2. Manage digital communication platforms such as SharePoint, social media, and newsletters.
  3. Plan and execute major dealer-facing conferences:
  • Manage vendor bidding processes (RFP).
  • Collaborate with regions, field teams, and Motors Holding.
  • Present event outcomes and recommendations to GM leadership.
  • Coordinate logistics and content for Dealer Council meetings and leadership sessions.
  • Develop creative strategies to enhance dealer engagement.
  • Coordinate with GM’s Corporate Giving and Grant Program stakeholders to align with strategic goals.
  • Manage the department’s budget, including tracking, reimbursements, contracts, and vendor payments.
  • Oversee financial operations related to eSAP, Ariba, purchase orders, invoices, and checks.
  • Support nationwide dealer events and initiatives with key stakeholders.
  • Gather feedback to improve programs and processes.
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines and keep leadership informed on project status.
