Job summary

Pressley Ridge seeks a Direct Support Professional for the School for the Deaf Residential Program in Pittsburgh. You will support students in residential cottages, help implement individual and group service plans, and monitor progress toward improved social/interpersonal functioning.

Collaborate with treatment teams, respond to health care issues, manage group dynamics, and promote daily living skills and safety. ASL proficiency is required within two years of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• ASL proficiency is required within two years from hire date.
• ASL proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support students in residential cottages and assist in developing and monitoring service plans.
• Collaborate with treatment team members in goal development.
• Respond to health care issues and communicate with the treatment team.
• Manage group behavior, facilitate problem-solving, and teach community living skills.
• Plan and evaluate daily living routines and transitions.
• Provide advocacy and support for youth and assess activity outcomes.
• Document effectively and meet paperwork timelines.
• Attend to safety, risk, and professional development requirements.
