Job summary

Soliant is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in Manhattan Beach, CA to provide engaging instruction for students with hearing impairments. The role involves collaboration with educators and families to foster inclusive learning.

You will develop and monitor IEPs, assess progress, and support communication access using assistive technology and communication methods such as ASL or Cued Speech. This contract position offers professional fulfillment in a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• State certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility for certification).
• Background in educational strategies for students with hearing impairments.
• Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Comfortable utilizing assistive technology and alternative communication methods (ASL, Cued Speech, etc.).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction adapted to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Assess student progress and adjust strategies to promote learning and independence.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with the education team and families.
• Coordinate services and supports, including interpreting or amplification as needed.
• Offer expertise and consultation to general education staff regarding accommodations and best practices.
• Foster a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere where all students feel included and empowered.
