Job summary

Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support instructional programs aligned with IEPs. Qualifications

  • Valid Substitute Teaching License or higher.
  • American Sign Language.
  • Ability to visually and auditorily monitor student performance and behavior.
  • Ability to model good language and vocabulary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist general education teachers in planning differentiated instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers and specialists to plan appropriate educational programs.
  • Collaborate with the audiologist for the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain student records to comply with state and federal laws pertaining to students with a disability.
  • Provide individualized instruction based on IEP goals for deaf and hard of hearing students.
