Job summary

Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) seeks a Teacher of the Deaf to provide standards-based instruction to K–12 students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. The role emphasizes alignment with IEPs and Colorado standards, using accessible teaching practices.

The teacher will monitor progress, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and advocate for students while engaging families in educational planning and supportive services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for Colorado educator licensure including a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement.
• Experience teaching or supporting Deaf or hard-of-hearing students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with IEPs and standards.
• Develop lesson plans and adaptive materials to support student growth.
• Assess student progress and inform instruction with data.
• Maintain a positive, safe learning environment with behavior supports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on IEP goals and education planning.
• Communicate with families regarding progress and learning needs.
