Job summary

Arlington ISD is seeking a Deaf Education Teacher to provide academic instruction for deaf/hearing-impaired students, focusing on language and communication skills. Collaboration with RDSPD and general education staff is essential to adapt curricula and support students’ IEP goals.

The role requires a Texas teaching certificate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (EC-12) and strong organizational and communication abilities. Travel to campuses and ongoing professional development are involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (EC-12) and Generalist.
  • TASC (Texas Assessment of Sign Communication) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum.
  • Provide accommodations for diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Present content per TEA guidelines and district policies.
  • Plan using strategies and materials for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
  • Conduct regular assessments as indicated by RDSPD.
