Job summary

The Deaf Education Research & Accessibility Specialist works for the Resource Materials and Technology Center for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, delivering statewide professional learning, technical assistance, and consultation to educators and stakeholders serving Deaf and hard of hearing students.

Qualifications

  • Experience in deaf education, special education, or services for deaf/hard of hearing students.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in language, literacy, assistive tech, and accessible materials.
  • Experience delivering professional learning, technical assistance, coaching, and consultation.
  • Ability to conduct program reviews, research, and evaluation of educational resources.
  • Willingness to travel statewide throughout Florida including overnight travel.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and Section 504/ADA compliance in educational settings.

Job description

The Deaf Education Research & Accessibility Specialist works for the Resource Materials and Technology Center for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing at Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, providing statewide professional learning, technical assistance, and consultation to educators and stakeholders serving deaf and hard of hearing students. This grant-funded position requires statewide travel and may offer partial telework opportunities.
