Job summary

Brownwood ISD is seeking a Deaf Education Interpreter to provide interpreting services for hearing impaired students in a variety of educational settings.

The role requires an associate degree or 60 credit hours and RID or BEI certification, with experience working with children. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Brownwood, Texas, with duties across classrooms, meetings, and related activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university or eligible for BEI exemption.
• Valid certification as interpreter by RID or BEI.

Responsibilities

• Interpret in educational settings including classrooms, meetings, and school programs.
• Attend ARD committee meetings as needed.
• Tutor students under direction of teacher.
• Adapt to each student’s communication needs.
• Maintain records and confidentiality.
• Participate in staff training and faculty events.
