Job Description

This position will interpret using American Sign Language and Voice for a student within the Sherburne Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative member districts of Becker, Big Lake, and Monticello. The Interpreter will collaborate with other service providers and teachers.

License & Experience

• Certified ASL Interpreter or working toward certification in the State of Minnesota
• Knowledge and experience working with students who are deaf or have hearing impairments
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Knowledge and experience using American Sign Language
• Must be able to assure and implement state and federal laws, statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to special education
• Team oriented approach when working with students, colleagues, families, and administrators
• Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
• Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
