Job summary

Open Sky Community Services in Worcester, MA is hiring Awake Overnight Counselors to support adults with developmental challenges in residential settings. You will assist with individualized service plans, provide guided daily living activities, and help individuals access transportation and community activities.

You'll work overnight with a focus on safety, advocacy, and fostering independence, while documenting progress and following health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Awake Overnight Counselors support individuals with a developmental disability and/or mental illness live as independently as possible, while providing guidance and performing various levels of assisted daily living skills.
• Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served and understand the importance of community integration.
• Assist in implementing individualized service plans.
• Assist with limited personal care, which includes direct care duties, occasional lifting, medication administration (with training), documentation, transportation, behavioral intervention, role modeling, and recreational activities.
• Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
• Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.
• Review and complete all required documentation.

Open Sky supports adults with developmental and intellectual challenges who are referred by the Department of Developmental Services. Awake Overnight Counselors support individuals with a developmental disability and/or mental illness live as independently as possible, while providing guidance and performing various levels of assisted daily living skills. Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served and understand the importance of community integration.

Other Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized service plans.
