Job summary

BrightStar Care - Cleveland is seeking a compassionate Caregiver/Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

The role offers flexible shifts and a mix of part-time or full-time opportunities, with 20–40 hours per week and hourly pay based on experience. Experience with Autism/DD and supporting structured routines is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of caregiving, DSP, or behavioral support experience is preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray is required.
• Reliable transportation with valid insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in the home and community.
• Assist with ADLs including hygiene, grooming, bathing, and personal care.
• Support participation in recreational, fitness, and community activities.
• Assist with meal preparation following dietary restrictions.
• Encourage participation in household tasks and independent living skills.
• Use visual schedules, routines, and positive reinforcement.
• Monitor safety and report significant observations promptly.
• Collaborate with family and the care team.
