Job summary

BrightStar Care - Cuyahoga West is seeking a compassionate, dependable Caregiver/Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in both the home and community setting.

The ideal candidate will be patient, calm under pressure, and experienced with routines, communication support, and close supervision in community settings. Flexible shifts offered: part-time and full-time, with schedules discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates compassionate, dependable caregiving.
• Ability to follow care plans and routines.
• Excellent communication with clients, families, and team.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid if not current.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in home and community.
• Assist with ADLs including hygiene, grooming, bathing, and personal care.
• Support participation in recreational, fitness, and community activities.
• Assist with meal prep following dietary guidelines.
• Encourage independent living and household tasks.
• Use visual schedules and routines for consistency.
• Document care accurately and follow care plans.
• Collaborate with family and care team.
