In this position, the technician or specialist reports to the engineering manager, Solar and Energy Storage Operations. This individual is responsible for his own personal safety awareness, maintenance and technical support of all Solar Digital Control/Computer Systems (DCS), and other Solar wide Process Control systems, the associated subsystems and all the associated field input and output devices. Technical support includes training and assisting all Maintenance, Operating, Engineering and Management personnel that utilize the Plant Digital Control Systems. This individual is responsible for supporting the updating and maintenance of the associated system backup processes, system software and data information interfaces such as the Canary System (Historian), Maintenance IO and Calibration Report database applications. This individual is also responsible for the Solar Digital Control System's Cyber security concerns and any associated activities.
Within the limits of authorized objectives, policies, procedures, plans, schedules and budgets, this position has the responsibility and commensurate authority to:
Required: A minimum of a high school education is required. Additional technical training specific to area of responsibility is expected.
Preferred: An Associates or Bachelor's in Science degree from an accredited college.
Required: Minimum of 10 years of work experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required. Experience with various industrial control and telemetry systems (PLC, RTU, HMI).
Preferred: Work experience in a solar or renewables environment.
Required: Minimum of 12 years of work experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required. Experience with various industrial control and telemetry systems (PLC, RTU, HMI). College degree may be considered in lieu of equivalent experience of 2 years with an Associate's degree and 4 years with a Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: Work experience in an industrial scale solar site.
Required: working knowledge of industrial scale solar design, basic control processes knowledge, strong attention to detail, good planning skills, good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a team environment and heightened awareness for safety. Must be able to pass a pulmonary function and negative pressure respirator fit test and use personal protective equipment (PPE) on-the-job.
Respond to plant needs with 24/7 coverage.
Must be able to work in dusty, hot and outdoor environments.
The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a Baseline Medical Examination as part of the pre-employment screening once an offer has been accepted. A pre-employment drug screening, as well as a background check (including education, employment, criminal and motor vehicle) will also be conducted as part of the pre-employment screening.
Must successfully complete the Physical Worker Medical Exam.
