Job summary

Evonik is seeking a Chemical Operator to support manufacturing operations in Mapleton, IL. You will operate and assist with process equipment, monitor safety, and participate in routine equipment maintenance and waste management activities.

The role requires a high-school education or equivalent, with 2+ years in industrial manufacturing and safety training preferred. Flexibility for rotating shifts, outdoor exposure, and use of PPE is expected.

Qualifications

  • Safety training or emergency response experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and operate a personal computer and related software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and assist with building steam, water, nitrogen, and compressed air processing systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and assist maintenance personnel on equipment repairs.
  • Follow procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally protective workplace.
  • Monitor and coordinate waste recovery and disposal activities.
