Job summary

Kent Plc in Port Arthur, TX seeks a DCS Commissioning Tech with 5+ years of experience to join regional project site teams. You will execute test activities, configure DCS components, and ensure safety, quality, time and costs targets are met.

Responsibilities include maintenance, calibration of field instruments, alarms/interlocks management, and equipment integration during startups and turnarounds.

Qualifications

• Technician certified with 5+ years DCS/PLC commissioning experience.
• Track record in frontline commissioning, start-up and initial operations.
• Experience with E-house commissioning including transformers, MCC, switchgear, UPS.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of DCS components (I/O, controllers, servers, HMIs, networking).
• Ensure proper functioning of control loops, alarms and interlocks.
• Assist with configuration updates, logic changes and system backups.
• Calibrate and maintain field instrumentation (transmitters, valves, analyzers).
• Respond to alarms and operator issues promptly.
• Coordinate with operators/engineers during startups, shutdowns, emergencies.
• Support integration of new equipment/process changes into the DCS.
• Maintain records of maintenance, configurations and changes.
• Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance (OSHA, API, IEC).
• Participate in plant turnarounds, shutdowns and commissioning activities.
