Job summary

System One is seeking a DCS Commissioning Engineer with Siemens S7-1500 experience for an onsite contract in Rapid City, SD. You will verify that plant equipment complies with project specifications and assist in developing startup packages and schedules to support successful handover.

Responsibilities include leading startup activities, managing turnover to operations, and ensuring safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Must have Siemens S7-1500 experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• 3+ years startup experience preferred.
• OSHA 10 Hour Training.
• Strong planning and multitasking abilities.

• Assist in developing startup packages and track required maintenance documentation.
• Prepare and maintain startup schedule with milestones for major equipment, cleaning, testing.
• Manage construction completion, startup turnover to operations, and final turnover to client.
• Develop programs to control spares, consumables, outstanding work and deficiencies.
• Lead system walkthroughs to establish completion status and identify outstanding items.

• Overview

  System One is currently seeking a strong DCS Commissioning Engineer with Siemens S7-1500 experience.

  Responsibilities

• Verify that plant equipment is in compliance with project contract and specification requirements, conforms to design operational feasibility, and is set up and tested per the supplier’s requirements within the engineer’s discipline capacity.

• Assist in developing startup packages and track all documentation required for proper maintenance of these packages.

• Participate in preparing and maintaining a detailed startup schedule, proactively planning for startup activities and milestones such as major equipment, chemical cleaning, steam blow, or performance testing.

• Manage construction completion, turnover to startup and operations, and final turnover to the client, ensuring all activities satisfy project specifications and contract requirements.

• Develop and implement programs to control spares, consumables, outstanding work, and deficiencies lists.

• Execute startup efforts to ensure compliance with specifications and contracts, resulting in efficient and timely client turnover.

• Conduct thorough system walk downs/reviews to establish system completion status and identify outstanding items.

• Lead plant equipment and systems within discipline capacity, serving as the primary point of contact for system functions through startup and operation.

• Verify systems are installed per design, confirm design operational feasibility, record engineering changes, and ensure proper setup/testing of equipment.

• Adhere to safety and quality standards and support continuous improvement efforts.

  Requirements

• Must have Siemens S7-1500 experience

• Preferred Skills: Project Instructions Manual, contract documents, startup guidelines, division policies, supervisory skills, communication skills, planning skills, multi-tasking skills, problem-solving skills, computer skills, knowledge of power plant technical principles, tools, equipment, and internal systems.

• OSHA 10 Hour Training.

• Bachelor’s of Engineering preferred, with 3+ years of relevant startup experience preferred.
