Position Overview

We are looking to hire a Distribution Center (“DC”) Transportation Supervisor to support our ongoing expansion and provide exceptional service to our Branches. This position will work onsite at our third-party managed DC in Goodyear, AZ.

What you'll do:

• Provide company-wide support for inbound and outbound freight to assigned Distribution Center across all modes (Parcel, LTL, Truckload, Intermodal, Private/Dedicated Fleet)
• Provide SiteOne branch locations with timely, professional, and proactive communication on a consistent basis
• Support effective routing for regular replenishment to the branches serviced by the DC, and support replenishment add-on’s, expedites, and out-of-area shipments
• Serve as the communication champion for the SiteOne Transportation team and notify branches of any delays, issues, etc.
• Work with Carrier Partners and Dedicated Fleet Partners to effectively manage driver utilization, hours of service regulations, and capacity
• Identify areas of opportunity to maximize trailer utilization, reduce out of route miles, backhaul utilization, etc.
• Investigate, resolve, and follow-up on branch needs related to carrier performance
• Work with Branches, Category Teams, Buyers, Supply Chain Support, and Sales regarding transportation needs
• Partner with internal and external resources to better define shipping processes and procedures
• Identify and present opportunities to improve service levels and drive down costs
• Track and trace domestic shipments across multiple modes of Transportation (Fleet, Truckload, LTL, Parcel, Intermodal, etc.)
• Utilize a Transportation Management System (TMS) to manage shipments, inbound or outbound appointments, shipment tracking and tracing, etc.
• Periodic travel for training, onboarding, and team events

Location:

• The DC Transportation Supervisor will report to the Senior Transportation Manager and will be based out of Goodyear, AZ

Skills We Are Seeking

• 3+ years of experience in a Transportation Planner, Distribution Center Coordinator/Analyst, Logistics Analyst, or similar role as part of a retail or wholesale operation
• Experience with SaaS based TMS solution (e.g. e2open, BluJay, etc.) is a plus
• A track record of providing superior customer service and exceeding expectations
• Experience with Excel to perform analysis with pivot tables, lookups, graphs/charts, etc.; higher level experience with analytics is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with asset carriers, brokers, and dedicated fleets
• Experience in green distribution or landscape, irrigation, nursery, hardscape, or lawn and garden industry experience is a plus
• 4-year degree or equivalent industry experience required
