Job summary

The Children’s Guild in Baltimore is seeking a Classroom Aide to support students with special needs, including autism, through individualized attention in a K-12 setting. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to help students reach their IEP goals and participate in ongoing training.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, documentation of progress, and a collaborative, mission-driven environment dedicated to student success and family engagement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; experience in special education preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience with students with special needs or autism.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Engage in family outreach and school-based activities.
  • Participate in professional development and training.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to implement IEP goals.
