Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support one or more distribution centers in the United States. The role focuses on developing SOPs, delivering training, conducting inspections, and investigating safety events within the internal system.

The position requires OSHA knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple safety programs across facilities, with a focus on sustainable improvements and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 2+ years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing with defined safety responsibilities.
• This is an onsite and in office role.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910) and root cause analysis methods.
• Strong communication and coaching skills; comfortable with floor presence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality involving security matters, incident details, and personnel issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and rollout of safety SOPs and standardized work processes across assigned facilities.
• Deliver engaging safety training, including new-hire orientation, PIT training, refresher courses, and targeted training based on trends.
• Conduct safety audits, daily walk-throughs, and hazard identification activities; ensure timely follow-up and verification of corrective actions.
• Lead or support safety event investigations with root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
• Own select safety programs (e.g., PIT compliance, emergency preparedness, chemical management, ergonomics, safety committees).
• Analyze safety data and incident trends to identify risks and recommend actions to site leadership.
• Conduct risk assessments and participate in Management of Change (MOC) reviews for new equipment or processes.
• Partner with Operations, HR, and Maintenance to drive corrective actions and sustainable improvements.
• Coach supervisors and associates on safe work practices and hazard recognition.
• Lead site-level safety committee meetings and local safety initiatives.
• Assist with OSHA, fire protection, PIT operations, and other regulatory requirements.
