Job summary

VERSANT Media in Washington, DC seeks a DC Coordinator to support the DC Bureau Chief and Deputy Bureau Chief, handling essential administrative tasks and coordinating operations for the DC news team.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and at least 2 years in television production, with availability for weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as deadlines demand. Join a dynamic newsroom and contribute to editorial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 2 years experience in television production.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights, under tight deadline pressure, occasionally with little or no warning (e.g. breaking news).

Responsibilities

• Perform general administrative duties (i.e. answering telephones, scheduling/planning meetings, filing, planning travel arrangements for executives, submitting expense reports, etc.)
• Prepare and update correspondence, reports, and documents using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Assist on ad hoc projects and other miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisors
• Maintain basic knowledge of current news events
• Organize internal and external visits with government officials, newsmakers, News Group and media partners
• Assist in research and other editorial projects and operational needs

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
