Job description

Join to apply for the DC Materials Handler - Outbound role at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Perform outbound functions such as loading, picking, or packing orders for shipment, following proper methods for the DC-WMS or paper system.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Locate and pull merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part numbers on the merchandise. Place merchandise in totes or stage bulk items appropriately. Mark totes with customer numbers and send down the conveyor when the order is complete.
  2. Ensure all totes are labeled for the correct store and do not exceed 60 lbs.
  3. Maintain accuracy and productivity standards when picking orders.
  4. Consolidate and pack stock order merchandise quickly and accurately for efficient customer check-in.
  5. Itemize all products not shipped in totes on the freight bill upon receipt, ensuring correct dating and totaling, including hazardous materials.
  6. Operate handheld computers (RF units) and/or voice picking equipment at WMS DCs.
  7. Check loaded items against freight bills for accuracy.
  8. Load trucks efficiently and secure freight properly.
  9. Supply picking zones with totes and repair totes as needed.
  10. Start printers, sort tickets and labels by zone, and operate outbound equipment.
  11. Keep the work area clean and dispose of waste properly.
  12. Trainers may take ownership of the DC training program, helping new team members and conveying procedural changes.
  13. Maintain safety standards and identify unsafe practices.
  14. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Experience
  • Required: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to read and match numbers and letters quickly; strong mathematical skills.
  • Desired: High school diploma or GED; warehouse experience; fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
