Perform outbound functions such as loading, picking, or packing orders for shipment according to proper methods for the DC-WMS or paper system.
Essential Job Functions
- Locate and pull merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part numbers on the merchandise. Place merchandise in totes or stage bulk items appropriately. Mark totes with customer numbers and send down the conveyor once the order is complete.
- Ensure all totes are labeled correctly and do not exceed 60 lbs.
- Maintain accuracy and productivity standards when picking orders.
- Consolidate and pack stock merchandise efficiently to facilitate quick customer check-in.
- Itemize products not shipped in totes on the freight bill upon receipt, ensuring correct dating, routing, and totalization, including hazardous materials.
- Operate handheld computers (RF units) and voice picking equipment.
- Check loaded items against freight bills for accuracy.
- Load trucks accurately and securely tie freight.
- Keep picking zones stocked and repair totes as needed.
- Operate printers, sort tickets, and labels by zone.
- Operate outbound equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, dispose of trash properly.
- Train new team members if experienced, ensuring training compliance and documentation.
- Follow safety standards and identify unsafe practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Experience
- Required: Strong communication skills, ability to read and match numbers quickly, strong math skills.
- Desired: High school diploma or GED, warehouse experience, multilingual abilities (Spanish preferred).
