Position Summary

The Material Handler position focuses on the movement of product throughout the DC, loading and unloading trailers, and using the warehouse management system to record movements. The Material Handler must be certified to operate all Powered Industrial Trucks, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Proficiently use Red Prairie Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF Scanners to track inventory and materials.
  • Maintain forklift certification and operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) safely within the DC.
  • Load and unload trailers using PITs and manually.
  • Pull, deliver, and stage materials for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and proper delivery.
  • Post weights, shipping charges, prepare shipment documentation (POs, BOLs, receipts).
  • Re-verify material weights and quantities for shipments.
  • Stock and distribute inventory, ensuring manufacturing lines are stocked.
  • Report inventory discrepancies.
  • Use the ERP system for inventory transactions and record keeping.
  • Manage waste and rework using Yield Calculation Program.
  • Complete paperwork and discard materials appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following hygiene and safety standards.
  • Follow SOPs and cGMPs to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Rotate through different Material Handler functions as needed.
  • Operate power equipment safely, including forklifts, hand tools, electric jacks, and cherry pickers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Aspects/Work Environment
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear regularly.
  • Lift/move items up to 75 pounds.
  • Handle product repetitively up to 75 pounds.
  • Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical shocks, chemicals.
  • Work environment typically has low to moderate noise levels.
  • Work at heights up to 32 feet when operating some PITs.
  • Reasonable accommodations available to perform essential functions.
