ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Position: DC Material Handler
Shift: 985 – Monday & Tuesday 3:30pm‑11:30pm, Saturday & Sunday 6:00am‑6:00pm
Hourly wage: $27.50 plus shift premiums

ROLE SUMMARY

To load and unload finished goods, stock transfer orders, and transfers to Church & Dwight customers and outside Distribution Centers, and to build pick pallets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate sit-down, stand-up, and pallet riders proficiently.
  • Load and unload trailers and containers accurately and to specification.
  • Build pick pallets according to pick lists.
  • Maintain necessary paperwork with high accuracy.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Maintain a clean department by sweeping and disposing of trash at the end of each shift.
  • Work with Church & Dwight carriers and customers in a highly professional manner.
  • Operate stretch wrapper to secure loads on pallets.
  • Use safe operating procedures and judgment.
  • Operate forklift in a safe and timely manner.
  • Follow facility rules to maintain quality and integrity of raw materials and finished products.
  • Lift 50 pounds consistently.
  • Be familiar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principles.
  • Work any shift during the week and weekends.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum six months of forklift experience.
  • Preferred: WMS experience.
  • Working knowledge of material handling equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Proficient use of WMS to load or unload trucks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and understand pick lists by quantity, product type, lot codes, and product version codes.
  • Strong safety orientation, especially regarding safe forklift operation.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds consistently.
  • Familiarity with plant food safety and HACCP principles.
  • Flexibility to work any shift during the week and on weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently, operate a forklift, drive and handle pallets, and perform tasks that involve walking, bending, twisting, and repetitive motion. Exposure to repetitive work, heating/cooling, and occasional noise is part of the role. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided.
