POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility is to manage and oversee, with hands-on experience, the repair and maintenance of all building automation, conveyance, building structures, power equipment fleet, DC controls, electrical, HVAC, motors, hydraulics, and general maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and manage the repair of all DC equipment and machinery, including electrical, power, air, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing systems, to ensure uninterrupted building operation.
- Coordinate with the operational team to schedule preventive maintenance and repairs, maintaining building safety and minimizing downtime.
- Work directly with outside vendors and contractors to ensure safety, structural integrity, and mechanical performance meet quality and safety standards, and that projects stay on schedule.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain supply inventory and handle purchasing for mechanical, chemical, and industrial parts needed for repairs or preventive maintenance.
- Manage departmental budget and expenditures, including capital project expenses, ensuring alignment with fiscal targets.
- Track work orders and requests to identify trends, recurring breakdowns, or areas of deficiency.
- Understand the facility's WMS and control systems to analyze how building operations impact automation and conveyance, and evaluate performance against expectations.
- Train others on equipment functionality and guide team members through diagnosing and repairing machines, conveyance systems, and automation.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; 5+ years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education, leadership, and on-site experience.
- Proven ability to lead a small team, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, delegating, and managing time and attendance.
- Extensive experience in an automated environment where WMS, system controls, and automation are interconnected and communicate effectively.
- Comprehensive experience with warehouse repairs, conveyors, machinery, power equipment, air compression, and working with building diagrams and drawings.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Office, along with other PC-based tools.
- Comfortable using PC and tools remotely for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and systems testing.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, sourcing competitive pricing, and overseeing projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and delegate efficiently.
- Highly organized, with attention to documentation, audits, inspections, certifications, and safety/regulatory compliance.
- Effective communication skills, both in person and electronically, upholding company values and leadership standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to maintain financial expectations, and basic data analysis skills.
