Job summary

Ryobi Die Casting (USA), Inc. in Shelbyville, Indiana, is seeking a Die Cast Machine Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift.

The role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs to maximize equipment availability for production, and maintains PM records. The position requires hands-on and written testing, completion of trainee classes, and the ability to train newer maintenance technicians.

Qualifications

• Pass hands-on and written test for this level.
• Successfully complete the remaining 2 classes in the Machine Maintenance Trainee program within the given time frame.
• Must meet minimum requirements on the current pay for skill matrix for this level.
• No final warning for attendance.
• Able to train newer machine maintenance techs.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventive maintenance on assigned machines and equipment.

• Makes emergency repairs as safely and quickly as possible to maximize machine and equipment availability to production.
• Maintains records of all PM and other work performed.
• Assists operators and other key personnel with training to better operate and maintain their own equipment, within the scope of their responsibility.
• Provides back-up programming as required.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

General Summary

Performs general preventive maintenance and makes machine and equipment repairs as directed. Troubleshoots equipment.

Essential Functions

• Conducts preventive maintenance on assigned machines and equipment.
• Assures that machines and equipment are kept in a safe operating condition.
• Makes emergency repairs as safely and quickly as possible to maximize machine and equipment availability to production.
• Maintains records of all PM and other work performed.
• Assists operators and other key personnel (as specified) with training to better operate and maintain their own equipment, within the scope of their responsibility.
• Provides back-up programming as required.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• General maintenance conditions, including occasional crawling on top of and underneath equipment
• Frequent periods of crouching, kneeling, and working from heights
• Nearly constant walking and standing
• Extremely dirty and noisy work environment in certain areas of the plant
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds

Minimum Qualifications
