Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Distribution Center Load Planner to support Coxsackie, NY or Front Royal, VA locations. You will plan daily truckload shipments, identify cost-saving opportunities, and coordinate with carrier partners to ensure reliable, compliant transportation.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent transportation, logistics, route planning, or related experience will be considered.
• Previous route planning, transportation coordination, or delivery driver experience required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills for cross-team and customer work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and problem-solving focus with accuracy and efficiency.
• Detail-oriented with ability to interpret procedures and guidelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook; Word/Access a plus.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating locally.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily truckload shipments into Ferguson distribution centers efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, service levels, and costs.
• Use transportation systems to tender freight to carrier partners per routing guides.
• Communicate delays and disruptions from system issues or weather impacting distribution and customers.
• Review and help improve transportation procedures in partnership with management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely, accurate transportation execution.
