Job summary

Ferguson seeks a Distribution Center Load Planner to work in Richland, WA or Stockton, CA. You will plan and coordinate daily truckload shipments into Ferguson distribution centers, interfacing with carrier partners and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-efficient deliveries.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvements and to support our commitment to reliable service and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent transportation, logistics, route planning experience will be considered.
• Previous route planning, transportation coordination, or delivery driver experience required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across teams and customers.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); Word and Access preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily truckload shipments into Ferguson distribution centers in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve transportation processes, service levels, and overall costs.
• Utilize transportation and logistics systems to tender freight to Ferguson's carrier partners in compliance with routing guides.
• Communicate transportation delays and service disruptions from system issues, weather events, or operational challenges.
• Review, evaluate, and help improve transportation procedures and operational processes with management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient execution of transportation plans.
