Job summary

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is seeking a Freight Handler to join our warehouse operations. You will unload trucks, work in a two-person team, and use powered equipment to move merchandise safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

Description

Position Overview:

The Freight Handler position is responsible for unloading trucks manually or with powered material handling equipment (MHE).

Responsibilities:

• Inspect material handling equipment inspection and complete sheet to ensure that equipment is safe and operable for the daily assignment.
• Work in a two person team to unload trucks manually or with MHE.
• Break down pallets and separate product by SKU, product number or quantity.
• Tag pallets of merchandise with identifying information using appropriate method.
• Once separated correctly, restack cases on pallets and wrap securely for delivery to stores.
• Follow all safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Ensure the work area is organized and free from debris.
• Meet minimum productivity standards.
• Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not required.
• Must be accurate with attention to detail.
• Good communication with all team members.
• Must be able to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job (MHE such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (until work is done).

Physical Requirements:

• Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures.
• Ability to bend and twist frequently.
• Ability to squat, kneel and balance.
• Ability to see, hear and speak.
