Job summary

O'Reilly Automotive Stores is seeking a Custodian/Groundskeeper to perform housekeeping, janitorial, and basic maintenance across the distribution center. The role supports interior cleaning and exterior grounds upkeep to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.

The position requires 1+ year in custodial work, ability to work in a team, and basic safety awareness. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with opportunities for seasonal snow removal and groundskeeping tasks.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks consistently.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment or willingness to learn.
• Understanding of basic safety practices in a warehouse or facility environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic knowledge of groundskeeping or facility maintenance practices.
• Experience operating groundskeeping equipment such as mowers or trimmers.
• Proficiency in one or more additional languages.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties throughout the DC.
• Empty trash and cardboard containers and sweep floor areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and cardboard balers.
• Maintain janitorial stations and ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stocked and organized.
• Restock paper products and hand cleaning supplies in restrooms and break areas.
• Communicate custodial or maintenance issues to supervisors or DC leadership.
• Assist with general maintenance and facility upkeep tasks as needed.
• Support groundskeeping duties including lawn care, trash removal, and basic landscaping.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal and exterior maintenance
• Support organization and maintenance of work areas such as tote repair or maintenance zones.
• Follow safety practices and identify unsafe conditions or behaviors.
• Operate equipment and perform duties in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
