Job summary

Republic Affairs, a Washington, DC-based strategic communications firm, is seeking a Communications Associate to manage media relations for a portfolio of clients. You will develop stories, book interviews, and track coverage, working with strategists and clients directly.

You will operate beyond traditional outlets, engaging Substack, podcasts, YouTube, and independent creators, to reach diverse audiences and strengthen public trust in civic life.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in communications, media relations, journalism, campaigns, or public affairs.
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills; ability to produce persuasive copy on deadline.
• Track record of landing media coverage.

Responsibilities

• Tie client campaigns to the news of the day and pitch them to outlets, newsletters, and creators.
• Book client spokespeople on TV, radio, and podcasts.
