Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking a Production Operations Supervisor to join the Washington, D.C. Technology & Operations team supporting NBC4 and Telemundo 44.

The role ensures smooth live and recorded productions across linear and streaming platforms, with responsibilities including SOP development, onboarding, captioning operations, and testing new production tech. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in radio, television & film or related field and 3+ years in broadcast or media operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in radio, television & film, a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience in broadcast, media operations, or production environments.
• Experience in studio, control room, or media operations center environments.
• Knowledge of live broadcast and digital production workflows; familiarity with production automation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support live and recorded productions across linear and streaming platforms.
• Lead the development and maintenance of SOPs and disaster recovery plans, including training and documentation.
• Assist with onboarding new hires and department-wide technical training.
• Coordinate daily captioning operations for WRC and WZDC, including scheduling and weekly testing.
• Implement and test new production technology and workflows.
• Provide MOC shift coverage during gaps or peak hours.
• Oversee administration and configuration of newsroom production and content storage systems.
• Flexibility to support 24/7 operations.
