Job summary

Marvin is hiring an Assistant Supervisor to help lead the department and cover the Supervisor when needed. The role supports daily production goals, enforces safety and quality standards, and fosters a positive work environment.

The position offers a day shift Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, with overtime as needed. You will collaborate with the Supervisor to implement process improvements and coach team members.

• Supervisory experience is required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized and solve problems.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Interpersonal skills to motivate and coach employees.
• Ability to understand department goals and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in leading the department and ensuring coverage when needed.
• Provide tools, information, and support to meet production goals.
• Participate in process changes and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain quality and safety measures, and report issues.
• Coordinate with support departments as needed.

Job Overview

The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in leading and supervising the department. This person must be able to maintain the stability of the department when the Supervisor isn't present.

• In tandem with the Supervisor, provides employees with tools, information, knowledge and support to meet production goals
• Partners with Supervisor on process changes and continuous improvement projects
• Listens, and encourages to ensure a positive culture; creating a great place to work
• Supports the daily productivity by balancing labor against goals
• Communicates with and involves appropriate support departments when needed
• Meets and maintains quality measures
• Meets and maintains safety measures (i.e. OSHA incident rate)
• Investigate quality concerns to determine root cause
• Prevent quality issues from leaving the facility

• Supervisory experience (required)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to multitask, remain organized, problem solve, and prioritize daily responsibilities
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written
• Possess interpersonal skills; ability to motivate, develop and coach employees
• Ability to understand department goals/metrics and communicate and execute plans established to meet those goals
