Introduction
Database Management: Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Optimization: Implement and optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and storage management.
Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity and consistency across all database systems through regular audits, backups, and recovery procedures.
Support: Provide technical guidance and support to database administrators, assisting with complex issues and troubleshooting.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Enterprise Data Architect to design and implement database solutions that align with the organization's data strategy.
Monitoring: Implement proactive measures to monitor database performance, identify and resolve issues, and optimize resource utilization.
Security: Implement and maintain security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
Training: Provide training and knowledge transfer to database administrators and other team members on best practices and new technologies.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in database administration, including managing and optimizing database systems.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
Optimization: Strong knowledge of query optimization, indexing, and storage management techniques.
Security: Experience implementing and maintaining database security measures, including access controls and encryption.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data architects, developers, and IT staff.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or similar are preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous Treasury experience is a plus.
