Job summary

Insight Global in the United States is seeking a Database Administrator to manage SQL Server and MongoDB across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will optimize performance, implement backups, and contribute to cloud architecture.

The role requires 4–5 years of DBA experience, familiarity with SSRS/SSIS, and a proactive, team‑oriented mindset. On-call duties and upgrades may occur after hours to minimize business impact.

Qualifications

• 4-5 yrs of professional experience in database administration.
• Experience monitoring servers and taking proactive actions.
• SQL Server upgrade experience.
• MongoDB experience or another non-relational database.
• Experience with SSRS and SSIS.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Coming from a large enterprise environment with fast paced nature.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain SQL Server and MongoDB databases in cloud and on-prem environments.
• Deploy, configure, and manage databases in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Monitor performance and tune queries and database operations.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions in the cloud.
• Collaborate with developers and IT teams to gather requirements.
• Ensure cloud security best practices are followed.

• Participate in on-call duties and after-hours upgrades.

• Manage and maintain SQL Server and MongoDB database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security in a clustered database environment.
• Deploy, configure, and manage SQL Server and MongoDB databases in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Monitor database performance and proactively tune and optimize SQL queries, MongoDB operations, and cloud database instances.
• Implement and maintain database backup and disaster recovery solutions in the cloud.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to gather and review requirements and create functional specifications.
• Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices and standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Create and maintain database documentation, including data models, schema designs, and system configurations.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database administration, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
• Self-motivated, independent, detailed oriented team player.
• Performs on-call duties and system implementations and upgrades that may occur after normal business hours and weekends as required to minimize business impact.
• Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
