The ideal candidate has 10 years of DB2 LUW experience, expertise with stored procedures and data modeling, and hands-on ETL or scripting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IS or related field
• 10 years hands-on experience with IBM DB2 UDB (LUW)
• Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, window functions)
• Experience writing stored procedures, UDFs, triggers, packages in DB2
• Proficient in performance tuning: explain plans, indexing, bind/rebind, stats
• Familiar with DB2 DB design concepts and ER modeling
• ETL tools or scripting for data movement (e.g., DataStage, Informatica, SSIS)
• Backup/restore, high availability, DR for DB2
• Linux/Unix/Windows environments and shell scripting
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and SQL scripts for DB2 UDB
• Collaborate with developers and architects to design efficient data models and queries
• Optimize statements and structures for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Analyze and resolve database performance issues (CPU, long-running queries, I/O)
• Implement and maintain indexing, table partitioning, and data distribution techniques
• Participate in capacity planning, backup/restore strategy, and DR planning
• Support schema changes and data migrations; write migration scripts
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with standards
• Create technical docs: data models, ER diagrams, SQL standards, runbooks
• Work with DBAs to monitor health, apply patches, manage config changes
• Assist in troubleshooting app/db interactions and transaction issues
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
