Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a skilled Mainframe DB2 System Programmer to install, configure, and optimize DB2 for z/OS in a mission-critical environment. The role requires strong DB2 administration and mainframe troubleshooting expertise.

Responsibilities include managing ZPARMs, buffer pools, logs, and catalog, with focus on performance tuning and DR readiness. Hybrid onsite schedule and client-facing delivery are expected.

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years of mainframe experience.
• 3–5+ years of DB2 systems programming/administration.
• Strong experience with DB2 for z/OS.
• Proficiency with DB2 replication products (QRep, SQLRep, or CDC).
• Knowledge of ZPARMs, buffer pools, logs, BSDS, catalog, and directory.
• DB2 Data Sharing, Sysplex, Coupling Facility, HA and DR experience.
• JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF proficiency.
• Preferred SMP/E, DB2 utilities and performance tools.

Job Overview:

• Experience with BMC DB2 tools, ADABAS, and Natural.
• Knowledge of REXX, SQL, JIRA, RACF, TCP/IP, network certificates, and Splunk.
• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, and MQ.

Pay Range:

$65/hr - $70/hr
