Job summary

Robotic Process Automation LLC seeks an experienced DB2 DBA to design and maintain DB2 z/OS database applications with 24x7 availability and peak performance. You will provide production and test support, code reviews, performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery strategies in a complex environment.

Collaborate with data center, operations, and development teams to implement changes, plan projects, and support DR planning and testing.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of DB2 z/OS Database Support in production environments.
• Experience designing for high availability and 24x7 operations.
• Strong SQL coding and performance tuning skills across large data stores.
• Familiarity with IBM DB2 tools and related utilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain DB2 Database applications with 24x7 availability and high performance.
• Perform DB2 DBA functions: SQL reviews, performance monitoring, security enforcement.
• Provide 24x7 on-call production support and change management.
• Collaborate with data center, operations, and development teams on technical decisions.
• Develop backup and disaster recovery strategies for new database requirements.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing.

Job description

Required Experience: 10+ years DB2 experience Description - Design and maintain DB2 Database applications which have the following characteristics:

• Design for high availability.
• Design for maximum performance.
• Maintain and develop techniques and proceduresto provide 24x7 availability.
• Provide production and test database support ina complex environment.

- Perform all functions which are performed by a DB2 Database Administrator, such as:

• SQL code reviews.
• Performance Monitoring and Tuning DB2 at theapplication database level.
• Enforce appropriate DB2 security standards.
• Collaborate with the DB2 systems programming staff to appropriately manage DSNZPARM settings.
• Create, manage and support DB2 Stored Procedures, DB2 Triggers, and DB2 Referential Integrity.
• Create Change Requests, Resolve Service Requests, Provide 24x7 On call support.
• Provide DB2 Connect configuration access support for individual users and distributed systems.
• Coordinate with team members on technical decisions and directions.
• Work with Management to develop project schedules.
• Provide Database performance and tuning which typically involves collaboration between Data Center, Technical Operations, Database Design and Administration, and the various software development areas.
• Responsible for the evaluation and creation of appropriate backup and recovery strategies for new database requirements.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery planning.

QualificationsExcellent knowledge of DB2 z/OSDatabase Support, including but not limited to the following:

• z/OS DB2 12 for zOS or higher in a production environment with high transaction rates
• High availability 24x7 designs and techniques
• Managing large data stores
• DB2 V10 utilities setup and execution
• DB2 performance and tuning
• Data Modeling expertise – logical and physical design
• Complex SQL coding / tuning
• Data Warehouse design with an understanding of OLAP design and query solutions
• DB2 attachments/interfaces include DRDA, DB2Connect
• DB2 tools skill set will include, but is notlimited to the following:
• IBM Data Studio
• IBM DB2 Administration Tool
• IBM DB2 Automation Tool
• IBM DB2 Explain
• IBM DB2 Query Monitor
• IBM OPTIM Workload Query Tuner
