Job summary

Northwest Passage, Ltd. seeks a Youth Development Specialist for daytime hours in Frederic, WI. The role involves direct care in residential settings, supervising youth, and delivering structured activities aligned with PassageWay Elements to support regulation and wellness.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, with emphasis on safety, relationship-building, and skill development. We value resilience, reliability, and a commitment to serving youth.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a social or behavioral science field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience working with youth with significant mental health needs.
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to follow through on commitments.
• Strong self-regulation and resilience; stay calm in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow.
• Ability to adapt to change.
• Commitment to serving youth and making a difference.
• Availability Monday-Friday 7:30 am-3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Provide close supervision of youth across residential, outdoor, and community settings.
• Develop and implement program activities supporting regulation and PassageWay elements.
• Ensure basic needs are met including nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and rest.
• Cultivate connections with youth from diverse backgrounds and model effective relational skills.
• Build on youths’ strengths and assist them in developing a positive sense of self.
• Transport youth to off-campus activities using Northwest Passage vehicles, including 15-passenger vans.
• Complete required documentation within expected timeframes.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment.
• Understand and adhere to agency policies and procedures.
