Job summary

Northwest Passage is seeking a Youth Development Specialist (Youth Counselor) to provide direct care and supervision for youth in a residential setting. The role focuses on creating a safe, structured environment where youth develop emotional regulation and life skills, aligned with PassageWay elements.

Hours are Monday–Friday from 2:15 pm to 10:15 pm, in Frederic, WI. The position offers hourly wages between $21.00 and $28.00, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities in a supportive

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a social/behavioral science field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience working with youth with significant mental health needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to follow through on commitments and expectations.
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 2:15 pm-10:15 pm.

Responsibilities

• Provide close supervision of youth across residential, outdoor, and community settings.
• Develop and implement program activities that support regulation and PassageWay elements.
• Integrate routines to provide a safe, structured environment.
• Ensure youths’ basic needs are met including nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and rest.
• Maintain documentation within expected timeframes and attend required meetings/trainings.
• Attend and engage in required trainings and keep a clean, safe treatment environment.
