Job summary

Sylvan Elementary in Snow Camp, North Carolina seeks a daytime Tutor funded by Title I to provide targeted academic support. The role is 19 hours per week, Monday–Friday, at the Alamance Virtual School site, reporting to the Principal. Starting immediately, non-exempt position with a focus on helping students meet academic goals.

Candidate must have at least 48 college hours and a valid NC driver’s license. Spanish speaking preferred. Salary is $35.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework.
• Experience supporting student learning in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic assistance to assigned tutees, either in a group or individually.
• Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying.
• Help students develop self-confidence and study skills.
• Establish and maintain rapport with the assigned student(s).
• Report to the Principal or designee as required.
