Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly, energetic Team Members to join our fast-paced restaurant environment in Michigan. You will open shifts, prepare foods, and serve customers with warmth, delivering a consistent, high-quality product.

We offer a starting pay range and benefits, including medical, dental & vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. Availability between 8am and 4pm is preferred, and you’ll work across stations with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• You must be at least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen; knife skills are a plus.
• Able to manage allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• You’re a team player; able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.).
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
